Jewelry Holder

I sold Premier Jewelry for a year and I LOVE jewelry so I have a huge amount of jewelry. Some of it goes in my big jewelry box the hubby got me for christmas a couple years ago, but some of my necklaces are too long and bracelets too big to fit, so I need to be able to hang them up.

So I bought this *gorgeous* picture at His House for $3 (I should've fought with them to get the price down but I was feeling sweet that day)

Then I hired a sexy handyman to drill holes for me - he offered to show me how but I love NEEDING him

(the hooks are just a box of 50 ugly hooks for $2 at Lowes - I just couldn't make myself buy pretty knobs for $1 each)

Then I went out in the jungle and painted the frame "hat box brown" the same color as my bedroom (since this project was going in my closet)

I, then decided that I hated it that color - it looked kinda cheap and dirty and so I painted it black

I used some fabric that was leftover from my Ruffled Butt Onesie and wrapped the picture

Also using the other pattern of fabric from the onesie I wrapped these "fishing poles" (that's what my mom used them for, I'm not sure what they're really called)

Then I took that baby upstairs and hung it in my closet - you have no idea how much I LOVE this thing

Carlisle Family Rules and Values

I have ADORED this canvas and this canvas since they were first posted. I've wanted to do them so bad.
The one thing that was holding me back was $$$$$ - canvases are pretty expensive and I hadn't found one discounted anywhere.
So...when I was at His House the other day I found two cabinet doors.

the guy at the desk GAVE them to me.
I brought them home, painted them, printed my rules and values on scrapbook paper and modpodged the heck out of these things

(two things I already know that you don't have to point out to me
1. I need to color my hair
2. I need to weedeat and cut the grass

My family values and rules now hang in the living room.

The most awesome thing about these 2 projects is that they were 100% FREE - I didn't pay a dime for anything - the doors were free, I already had the paint, scrapbook paper, modpodge and hardware for hanging. FABULOUSLY FREE!!!!

Goodwill had some Goods

Usually our Goodwill has nasty early 90's crap that noone wants - not the cool vintage stuff that everyone else seems to find.
Last week, I got lucky and found this little gem for $3

I found a super cute HandyMan to help me paint

And it ended up looking like this

I took some leftover hydrangeas from my wreath and stuffed them in my candy jar with some marbles.

I LOVE IT

Front Door Wreath

I needed to buy a wreath.
I went to Goodwill and bought this *beauty*

(they actually wanted me to pay full price for it - did they think I wanted it for its beauty? #1 we all know my christmas colors are turquoise, purple, lime green and hot pink #2 are you kidding me? this thing is hideous)

I was kinda scared to take all the ribbon off the wreath, afraid that some bugs would come crawling out - but I braved it and it worked out lovely.

I paid $1 for this wreath and the Michael's price tag is still on it for $2.29
I forgot this ribbon makes your hands turn red

I decided to use the material I used for my grocery bag holder because I seriously love it and it matched my flowers perfectly

This little girl kept getting in my way

I cut strips of the fabric -freehanded, no measuring, that's why they're crooked but it doesn't matter because no one will be able to see

I took the strips and wrapped them around the wreath using quilting pins

It then looked like this

I then zigzaged tulle around (holding in place by the quilting pins) like WHIMSI KEL says to.

But obviously it needed some more love so I hot-glued on some geraniums

I added some organza ribbon wrapped around where the tulle was

The kids kept stealing my flowers and when Jax would bring them back he'd say "here you go your magesty"

Here it is hanging on my door. I seriously love it

But I think I might need some brighter colors for summer (this will probably be my spring wreath)

Twirly Flower hairpiece

I love wearing hair accesories just as much as I love putting them in MZ's hair.
Sunday we all wore pink and brown and my dress was mainly brown. I needed a hair accesories that would make me and MZ match a little better.
I came up with this.
Price (FREE - obviously - I made it an hour before church started) Tulle and ribbon was leftover from my sister's baby shower and the button is from Momma B

Here's MZ's two little flowers

Burlap Curtains

Whoever thought of Burlap curtains was a genius - oh yeah, that was Jen at Tatertots and Jello... AH-MAZING
So of course since I hardly have any imagination, I very sweetly stole her idea and made some myself during General Conference. I LOVE the way they look and they really bring my kitchen and living room together.
